After a late lunch 5 of us headed upto do the climax trail in the dyfi forest.
Wow its a long climb almost all uphill to the trail head from Machynlleth then even steeper uphill once on the trail.
I had heard about the climb being a bit long but it did drag on abit I guess not having already done 30km plus didn't help but it was a relief to get to the first bit of single track, its amazing how it perks you up once back on some single track.
We all made it to the top in the end I was feeling a little tired by this point. I have to get this bit in without sounding too big headed but I was the only one to clear the rocky section just before the viewing point on the trail up top :)
The climb was all forgotten once we started on the down hill. I let gav go first as he is normaly the "mad" person down hill but I was on hill tail all the way down and even had to back off a few times as I go a bit too close. It was all a bit of a blur I'd heard about the eye of the needle and the narrow bridge bit but we were going that fast we were over them before we knew what or how bad they were. I have to admit I didn't have time to look down on the way down eyes firmly fixed on the trail.
We had a bit of a worrying wait at the bottom as the others didn't have such a clear run one had a little fall and lost a bit of confidence, another had a puncture in a tubless tire and it took 20 mins to get the tire off, then the third managed to put a huge hole in their tire so had to use cableties and gaffer tape to stick it back together!
In the end we made it back to Machynlleth just before dark

Fantastic ride probaly one of the best decents Ive ever done
